This season's Organ Festival launches on Saturday 25 February 2017. Following the success of previous years, the Festival showcases well-known organists from far and wide, offering first-class organ music throughout the year.
The first recital of the series will be played by Steven Grahl, Director of Music at Peteborough Cathedral.
'Our music programme has gone from strength to strength since the refurbishment of the organ in 2010,' comments James Thomas, Director of Music at St Edmundsbury Cathedral. 'We have an exciting programme planned for this year which includes a Church Organists' Day on 10 June when organists of all denominations can receive guidance from internationally renowned recitalist and teacher Gerard Brooks.'
More details about the Church Organists' Day will be available shortly on the Cathedral website.
The Organ Festival continues throughout 2017 with recitals by Dan Soper, Alexander Binns, Roger Judd, Paul Hale, James Thomas and Sarah Baldock. For full details of the Cathedral Organ Festival click here to view our Organ Festival Leaflet.
All recitals are at 5.00 pm and are free of charge with a retiring collection.
